Gregoria hanya memberi Goh lima poin saja sambil terus mendulang poin hingga menutup gim pertama dengan kemenangan 21-6. Pada gim kedua, dominasi itu dilanjutkan pebulutangkis Wonogiri tersebut.

Meski mendapat perlawanan ketat 3-3 di awal, Gregoria kemudian menjauh menjadi 6-3, dan menutup interval dengan keunggulan 11-5. Usai rehat, Goh berhasil menambah tujuh poin, namun tak cukup untuk mengejar Gregoria yang akhirnya menang 21-12.
Gregoria menjadi wakil Indonesia ketiga yang melaju ke delapan besar, menyusul Anthony Sinisuka Ginting dan Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto.
